Monroe County Environmental Education Center
Monroe County Environmental Education is thirty years old now, and for three decades has been offering nature programs, training programs, field studies and promoting environmental awareness in the Poconos region. They offer all sorts of programs for all ages, including school trips for larger groups. Interested in wild birds of the Poconos region? Sign up for one of their bird walks. They even have specialized bird walks and programs if one bird in particular fascinates you. For example, there's the Bald Eagle Field Trip. Here are some more examples from their calendar of events:

The Monroe County Environmental Education Center is located in the Kettle Creek Wildlife Sanctuary near Bartonsville. It's on the second floor of the administrative office building, and covers over seven thousand square feet. There's also a gift shop and an observation tower for visitors to enjoy. You can get here by taking I-80 and depending which direction you're coming from, take exit 309 or 302B and head towards the town of Bartonsville. The sanctuary is open every day, and the Education Center is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and two Saturdays each month, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
