The Poconos
Shopping

With all the natural resources, unlimited lakes and rolling mountains, waterfalls and endless outdoor activities, you would think there woudn't be any place for shopping and malls such activity. However, the Poconos offer endless pull-off-the-road pit stops of antique stores, flea markets, boutiques, as well as outlets galore and the now-famous The Crossings, an upscale mall at which you could spend all day. We've named a few destinations here, for the shopping extension of your vacation, but really there are more shops all the time, and old ones disappear. You'll just have to come to the Poconos yourself and discover what's here.

Outlets & Malls

Outlet and Mall shopping in the Poconos is better than ever, with a variety of options that will satisfy every shopper's needs and desires. There's Foxmoore Village Outlet Center, which is laid out so that shoppers stroll through a small village, from door to door. There's also food and movies. Also worth a visit is Crossing Factory Stores, also known as The Crossings, probably the most famous shopping destination in the Poconos. It's in Tannersville and it is huge. Look for

designer shops with heavily discounted prices, and big crowds. Also try Odd Lots Outlet, which sells you name it. They specialize in Poconos tourist gear but sell what seems like everything under the sun. There's also Pocono Outlet Complex in Stroudsburg. Located in an old mill, this group of shops includes American Ribbon and American Ribbon Fabric. This place is fun. And if you ever make anything using ribbon, even if you ever wrap a present, you'll have a ball snapping up rolls and rolls of delightful ribbon. Really!

Farmers Markets

There are lots of farms in the Poconos, so naturally you'll encounter farmers' markets, farm stands, and orchards that sell their produce and maby if you're lucky they'll have cider, too. Just look for signs on any of the mostly country roads you'll certainly be travelling on when you visit the Poconos.

Antiques

If you've already read our history section, then you know that the Poconos have a rich history that has been well-preserved in many ways. One other way in which you can feel the sense of history all around you in the Poconos is to see how many antiques there are in this region. Drive down our roads and you will see antique shops, and if you are even remotely interested in antiques or in history, chances are you'll be more than tempted to pull off the road and peek inside at least one or two of these fascinating shops.

One of note is the Delaware Water Gap Antique Outlet, which has thousands of square feet of antiques. There used to be a famous club in this building, called the Blue Note.
